Profile

I am a scientist with a PhD in agroecology. My research work focuses on development and use of empirical and process-based modelling to investigate and better understand the effect of climate, climate change and management on crop productivity and nitrogen dynamics in different environments, with a focus on model sensitivity and uncertainty. I am interested in integrating remote sensing with crop modelling to increase water and nitrogen use efficiencies and help reduce yield gap and ensure sustainable intensification of annual as well as perennial crop production. I have contributed to different research projects in Denmark, China and Mexico, and I have been involved in the modelling studies under the global AgMIP wheat programme.

Role project(s)

In the GYGA-II project, I am investigating the effect of water stress on oil palm yield and yield components in highly productive commercial plantations. I will also improve and calibrate the PALMSIM model and investigate the oil palm yield gap in smallholder plantations.
