Profile
I am an associate professor at CSA specializing in computational crop ecophysiology. Within my team we study interactions between plants and the consequences for their growth and performance as a community. We apply this to (diverse) crop systems. The main tool we use to address these questions is 3D functional-structural plant (FSP) modelling. FSP models simulate plant growth and development above and below ground, as a result of competition for resources, interaction with other organisms, and management interventions.
Role project(s)
In the NWO Wotro Cocoa project I have the role of supervisor of Ambra Tosto, who is developing an FSP model of cocoa to simulate cocoa performance as a result of the interaction between shading and pruning.
