Gerrie van de Ven

I am an assistant professer at PPS and involved in several projects on banana, from the agronomic aspects to the farming system level. I am an agronomist (Grassland Science, also a perennial) by training and specifically interested in the systems analysis aspects, looking at the connections between parts of the system and the broader context, such as environment and economics, specifically so called the living income. I work with the Banana Agronomy team in Uganda on all aspects as a daily supervisor of 3 PhD students, Wytze , Dennis and Hannington (topics: see their descriptions).
